In this painting, I wanted the viewer to imagine how Jesus would look if you were to come upon Him in a private moment of prayer. What I wanted to emphasize most were His strong carpenter's hands, clasped in prayer. This painting is meant to be a gentle reminder to cling to God in prayer, not only in times of need, but thoughtfully and often, just as Christ so often did. - MW
