As the vast landscape unfolds, these scouts have forged ahead to protect their tribe. Perhaps they are searching for any enemies, a new camp site or food sources. Apsaalooke means "children of the large-beaked bird," which was misinterpreted to mean Crow. Today, the majority of the Crow people live on the Crow Reservation in south central Montana; it is the largest of the seven reservations.
