I was coming home at the end of a long show tour, and I had a cold, and I said to myself, "Go to your happy place," and then I thought, "What is my happy place? What time of day is it?" I remembered sitting on a hotel-room balcony in southern Spain, looking at the rock of Gibraltar in the fading light and thinking, "It doesn’t get any better than this." My happiest times have been during that magical hour when a good day’s work is done and the night has come to settle the spirit.
