In recent years, I've gone back several times to my grandfather's farm in eastern Ontario, where my father grew up. When I walk down the lane to the land owned by my grandfather, I am aware of being in a place where the face of the land hasn't changed much in more than a century. It represents a piece of human heritage as valuable to me as any piece of nature. - RB
