This drawing was an original work from which Dick Dugan’s (1926-2011) famed caricatures were reproduced in the media. For 20 years, the artistic talents and humor of Dick Dugan were favorites of Cleveland Plain Dealer readers. His caricatures and cartoons, as well as his marvelously detailed portraits, found their subjects in the sports, entertainment and political arenas and featured such celebrities as Liza Minelli, Bob Hope, Brian Sipe, Jim Brown, Carol Channing, Bobby Orr, the Beatles and Robert Kennedy. His works are in the permanent collections of the Football and Baseball Halls of Fame, the Case-Western Reserve Athletic Hall of Fame and the Eisenhower Museum. On television, he is remembered as "Doodles Dugan."
