I was extremely fortunate to catch this handsome male at dusk as we were returning to camp after a game drive. I shot him “full-bodied.” (Later, when I developed my film, I feared that he was “too graphic” for some viewers. So I cropped him to a portrait shot.)

Incidentally, in seven trips to Africa, this was the best leopard shot I ever took. I was with Joel, my favorite Kenyan guide. He had spent eight years as a Kenyan game warden followed by several years as a guide. He said he had never been this close to a leopard. - AB
