Champion Junior High School was built in the late 1890s to serve as Painesville High School. In the early 1920s, Harvey High School was built on the grounds of the "Old Academy Building" and Painesville High School became Champion Junior High. (Old timers may remember the Champion "study hall annex" with its potbelly stove!)
I created the giclée restoration of this building from a small historic photo. - AB
