Dean Morrissey - Tugging the Moon

From the 1997 book The Great Kettles: A Tale of Time detail, page 23.

The universe depends on the moon, which, contrary to popular notions, is a steam-powered flying apparatus driven faithfully across the sky each night by a man. Hence, the Man in the Moon. When Joey began his travels through time, the P.A.S.T. Clock stopped and so did time everywhere (everywhere, that is, except The Great Kettles). As time stood still, the moon ceased its nightly passage. And to make matters even worse, the cow that jumped over the moon became disoriented! - DM

ABOUT THE GREAT KETTLES. The Great Kettles is home to a number of magical figures: The Man in the Moon, The Mystic Mariner, Father Time, The Sandman, The Cloud Keeper, The Cow that Jumped Over the Moon, The Sisters of the Bridge, Trundles, Trolls, Mogg the Giant along with his four brother Giants (one for each season), Vidalia Potts, The Onion Lady, Old Man Winter…and a population of Shadow Tailors, Fence Viewers, Stone Counters, Scribners, Peddlers, Cooks and Crooks like Kudgell the Wayward Wizard. They have a game called Bowl a Troll where they roll Trolls at large (man-sized) wooden pins. The Troll, unlike a bowling ball, attempts to destroy the pins with a war-axe or sword as he flies into them. The Troll with the most destroyed wooden pins is the winner. - DM
