Anyone who has tried ice-skating remembers those first perilous moments on the ice, when your ankles collapse, and your rear end spends more time on the ice than your skates. Trying something new can be uncertain and scary in the beginning, but with determination and practice the reward is usually a lot of fun and joy. It is those first perilous moments on the ice, which we all must face sometime, that I wanted to portray. - JD
