Gregory Clair's paintings are known internationally for their fine detail and clarity, factors that are evident in his winning entry of the 2006 Ohio Wetlands Habitat Stamp Contest. This impressive study of a drake pintail celebrates the 25th year of Ohio Duck stamp tradition by offering the fines quality artwork by premier wildlife artists.
This year's program is truly unique, in commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Ohio Wetlands stamp program. There will be a special medallion edition companion print available. This is the first time an original painting has graced the self-adhesive, "souvenir card" anywhere in the country. Collectors have the opportunity to purchase this "one of a kind" limited edition as a companion print with the 2006 Ohio Duck Stamp Print. They are available together or sold separately. The special medallion edition features a gold plated bronze medallion and a hand-colored remarque. |

Gregory Clair's painting of a pintail drake represents 25 years
of the Ohio Duck Stamp Program. This is Greg's second win in
the Ohio Program: his first win was in 1991 with a pair of Lesser
Scaup. Greg's paintings have also been selected as the 2002
Ohio Ducks Unlimited Artist of the Year and the 2005, 1999 Ohio DU
Sponsor Print Artist. In 2004 Greg's painting of a Ringed-Neck
Duck took 4th place in the Federal Duck Stamp contest.
Greg's love for the outdoors and the diversity of wildlife is evident in his paintings. From songbirds to big game animals, Greg relies on his experiences and encounters in the wild to bring life to his highly detailed paintings. In 2001 Greg quit his full-time job to devote himself fully to pursuing his passion as an artist. "My hope is the viewer of my art is able to immerse themselves into the settings and feel the awe and amazement that I feel when in the midst of God's creation."
